So I opened the clubs press yesterday...

We're a family of 3 sons and 2 parents - all golfers, and have one of those presses in the hall that you just chuck stuff like umbrellas or club that you may or may not use again etc.

I had a look in the press yesterday, just to see if there's anything I could use or trade in as I might be looking for a new driver/3w.

Here's what I found gathering dust...

    Taylor Made rescue club
    Cleveland Launcher 5 wood
    Callaway Hawkeye 7 wood
A set of Ping i3+ irons
    An Odyssey 2 ball putter
A Ping Answer 2 with the blue insert
A gun metal 56deg Cleveland wedge
    A milled 60deg Cleveland wedge
A Callaway pro series driver (think it was a Hawkeye 2)

None of this is atually part of anyones current set. I'm not even sure that's it... I know there's definitely another 2 Cleveland wedges upstairs that are spare.

Anyone any idea what I could do with this? It's all good gear but i'd probably get feck all for it on e bay...?

Eh you could give it all to me!! I think that would be the easiest thing to do, sounds like you need to declutter:D

I'm potentially in the market for most of those clubs!

Sounds like you may have a market for them here-I would be interested in some of them..:)

Might be interested in the Anser at the right price/condition

McGuirks and the like must love the sight of you.:D Thats some nice gear to have lying around. I play the X16 pro series with 7.0 rifles. Nice club , never seen a better set. Thinking up upgrading the 7.5 degree 975D (X100 DG shaft, tipped 2 inches) to a newer model.

If you decide to put them on adverts, give me a quick PM as I'd be interested in a lot of the stuff you listed.

Haha, cheers guys - this isn't exactly the way I intended this thread to go!

I'll check with the fam later on whether they're happy to part with it, which they will be as it's not being used.

Mod - I'm conscious of the fact that this could easily stray beyond the rules. I do however, genuinely need some advice on what I should be looking for for this gear.

Obviously ;) neither I, nor my kin are accustomed to selling second hand gear. So it would be a big help if I could get that advice here.

Adverts might be a good way to go. I've sold a couple of things on that recently. Dropping them in to McGuirks is an idea, but they will only give you a fraction of their worth. Also, they will then punt them on to guys like those in this thread at a profit.

Get a rough idea of values by scouting the net / ebay and put them up on adverts. that would be my suggestion!

    Cheers Graeme.

I have a Colt regular graphite 7 wood and a jigger which might suit you :p

Haha... good man! Ah yes, it's been a while since i seen someone using a jigger. My uncle used to swear by his.

You on for this boards golf outing?

I think I saw Graeme using a lovely little 11 wood on the par 3's last year in Clontarf, if I remember correctly it had a pink grip and a lovely colourful graphite shaft:D:D:D

    :o:o:o:D

The good news is John, i finally managed to get the headcover to match the grip.

I'd be interested in the 2-Ball, let me what you decide to do. Thanks

Go on ebay.ie - check the "completed listings" for each of the clubs - it should give you a good idea what they are worth.
Or you could advertise at what you think they are worth and just keep dropping the price until someone bites.
I just sold a Ping G10 driver on adverts today.

Incidentally, anyone got a square-headed driver in their bag? I hit my buddies down at the range last week, just once... It went long and straight as an arrow!

    What's the spec?
Do you mind me askin what you paid?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,798 ✭✭✭Mister Sifter

Not at all... 9 degree, pro-launch stiff shaft (a little stiffer than stiff apparently), only been hit about 50 times and is immaculate. I paid 299.

    FYI

I posted some of the gear up on Adverts.ie - we're keeping the two putters unfortunately - and I think I'm selling the 5 wood elsewhere.

    - any idea what a good price for a Cleveland Launcher current model would be?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 480 ✭✭1916

My father has a Callaway FT-i LCG Square head one, as for straight and true, guess with most things its down to the operator

Got €170, but took nearly two months to sell. I guess trying to sell in Dec/Jan isn't the best time.
You might have better luck now with the weather improving.

Sold the G10 because I didn't hit it any better than what I had, no doubt it's the indian not the arrow at fault!
Figure I would sell it now while I can still get a decent price for it.

Am thinking of trying a square head driver too.
A friend has one and it has really straightened out his slice.
It was an Ft-i clone that he got for about €50, I've hit it a few times and it is straighter and longer for me than the Ping.

I've a cupboard full of clubs i'm not using either.

Two Cleveland wedges, 58 & 60 degrees, a Titleist copper wedge, 52 degrees, and a Titleist driver, 9.5 degrees. I've added them all up on Adverts if anyone is interested.

Also listed for sale is an as new Ping G10 driver. 9 degrees.

Let me know if you're interested in anything.

    Cheers
