Apologies lads, im a noob at this :)

    hardwarepc.jpg

    Komplettpc.jpg

btw heres what i want it for

Im looking to spend just under a grand on a new pc, i need it mainly for online poker, 14 tables at once (not sure how much resources that takes), a big itunes library, dvd backups, avi to dvd converts and stuff like that. I dont play games at all. Just wondering should i go to somewhere like hardwareversand or komplett and get them to build as good a pc as i can afford or should i just to dell and get a standard pc. Will i get something much better for the same price if i go to the aforementioned companies??? I want something pretty fast and that wont be completly ancient by christmas preferably.

And heres what im wondering about these builds

    Which one is better??
Is there anywhere i should be spending more or less??
    Is there anything im forgetting??

Will these be able run a 22" 1920x1200 monitor??

    Thanks

    You mean a 24" monitor, right? I don't think there are any 22" monitors running a 1920x1200.

1)You're not gaming so you don't need that huge PSU. Get a 350w one.
2)Why bother with a blu-ray drive? The media (if you're planning on backing up) is horrendously expensive and you won't see much of a visual benefit to HDTV on a 24" monitor. Get a DVD-RW like on the Komplett build and buy Blu when the price drops for drives AND media (if it ever does).
    You've just saved yourself ~€150.
Use the money to buy a P35 motherboard (the Abit IP35-E)
    and a Core2Quad
and upgrade that graphics card to something that won't collapse when running a bigger monitor. a 3650 card will give you twice the performance for about the same money.

A Core2Quad will be far more use to you for media encoding. It'll cut your encoding times by up to a quarter.

For the expert view on whether you need to upgrade for online poker, Option #4 in the following article is for you.

So you guys think i should go for something like this Dell over this hardwareversand?? I would be buying the monitor for about 350-400 quid either way so the Dell works out at 1,003 euros total and the other at 889 euros with no monitor. Thanks in advance
