    Hiya Guys,

So I'm in New Zealand at the moment but will be coming back to Ireland in april.

Been away from Ireland for 2 years and I just want to get a kinda price check/recommendation on a laptop I'm looking at getting second hand here.

Machine is a Toshiba M33 Special Edition Notebook (auction) (PDF Info)

Should be able to get if for about 300Eur give or take a bit with the exchange rate. **Is that too much???**

Now I would like to know if laptop ram is at a decent price into Ireland atm.

I have done some searches and I can get 2Gb PC3200 for ~90Eur.

Should I wait to get back or grab it here.

Machine isn't that bad at all really,if you could get it for €300 that wouldn't be too bad at all, but of course if you can get it for less than that then all well and good!
Spec's on it aren't bad, ram in Ireland is cheap enough , check www.memoryc.com for the relavent prices.
You can check www.laptopsdirect.ie and see the cheapest new laptop they have is €371 (sort the laptops by price and you'll see it.)
    Ah here it is http://www.laptopsdirect.ie/HP_530_KD085AA/version.asp
It mightn't be overly powerful but it is new, throw 2GB of ram in there an it'll be good!

It's decent enough price for the spec. Check out adverts though you might find a bargain on there. Also I think that ram you linked to won't work. You should be looking for so-dimms not dimms.

This would be the correct ram to be buying

Yup, stupid monkey that i am I added the wrong link to the ram. thanks majiktripp

Funny enough I got a very similar model (M30) off Adverts.ie before i left Ireland for E600. was stolen on my journey. :(

I really liked the machine and i think i might get this one.

Only thing that might stop me is that I am stopping in Bangkok for a few days and there is a huge Computer/Electronics Superstore there.

    anyone know anything about it?

    Could try here

Don't know how prices would compete with here or NZ but I'm sure if you pass on the one on Trademe.co.nz then it would certainly be in your interest to have a look whilst in Bangkok.
