    Hi all
    Was reading the Hollywood lakes thread and a poster refered to Golf Memerships being down from the glory/boom years. Thought it would be a good idea to set up a thread where people could post clubs that are open for new membership and the joining fee and sub. There have to be some good deals available as there are still new clubs on line in the Dublin catchment are-Kileen Castle, Dunmurray Springs etc. Thread not just for clubs near Dublin, there are sure to be some great courses out there looking for mew faces.
    I would be interested in gettig a good list of clubs offerig Distance memberships -the same ones appear in the press every year.

    List as follows;

    Name;
    Location;
    Type of membership ; i.e. Member/Pref Share/Distance
    No of Holes;
    Joining fee;
    Sub;
    Comments;

    My course - but I'll keep it fairly objective...

    Name - The South County Golf Club

    Location - Blessington Road (10 mins from Tallaght/Templeogue exit of M50)

    Type of membership -

    Share 12k ...or... lease a membership for 2k per annum (<--- these are approx)

    No of Holes - 18 (par 72)

    Comments

    Bielenburg designed 7,000 yards+ course.
    Some ordinary holes, plenty of good ones.
    Did play like a new course for quite some time but has settled a lot in the last year or so.
    Full driving range with grass and sythetic, sheltered bays.
    60 yard pitching area with mock green and bunkers.
    2 putting greens.
    Good pro and pro-shop.
    Really nice clubhouse.
    Not a course that has to worry about length as technology develops.

    That's pretty objective right...?

    Just thinking, the sunday business post used to run a supplement once a year detailing all the courses in the country. It was excellent, but haven't seen one this year.
