I had a flight booked with Ryanair for two people travelling Sunday 20:00 Shannon - London

The flight changed from 20:00 to 16:40, ryanair sent out their email about getting a refund or accepting the change.

I was ok with the change but my other half decided she didn’t want to accept this change.

I went to their online form that allowed the refund. I entered in the space provided the name of the passenger I wish to refund the money for, only 1 person.

Tried to checkin on Friday for my flight and found that it wouldn’t allow me checkin. I rang Ryanair and they told me they refunded both passengers for that flight and that the new cost of flight was 200 euros. I told them that I didn’t submit both passenger names for a refund, but she said, oh if you did it online then it doesn’t support refunding only one person. I told her it did. So she said head office wasn’t open and that if I called back Saturday morning it should be ok and she told me to ring the same number i rang.

I told her I was flying from london to ireland tonight(Friday night) and that I needed this flight to get home.

Saturday Morning, the number I was given was only open Monday to Friday and couldn’t get thru to anyone in Ryanair.

I had to book a flight from Knock with Xl.com.

Does anyone know if I have any come back here, I didn’t enter refund both passengers because her self was looking over my shoulder when I did it.

On a good note, xl.com had an offer on and gave all passengers on the knock flight a free return flight to gatwick. Its just i dont think ryanair should be allowed do what they feel and never admit to a mistake on their side.

I'd say you have some comeback, but I wouldn't be expecting ryanair to cover the xl flight.
I reckon best case you'd get a ryanair voucher for the same route..

I'm open to correction here, but it looks like you might have no comeback. I hope that I'm not right. Link
If a Ryanair flight is time changed significantly (more than 3 hours before or after the original departure time) and no suitable alternative flight is available, we will, upon application, offer a Travel Credit or a refund for all* monies paid in respect of the time changed flight, without further liability.

    Final update on this.

I rang ryanair yesterday and spoke the customer service. I explained what happned and the looked into it while i was on the phone.

    1) They refunded both passengers by mistake the first time and gave me my 50 quid back.
    2) When i rang at 4pm on Friday they sent the request to head office and looked into it.
    3) 5.25pm customer service sent me a mail explaing they had refunded all my money.

So yesterday they explained what happened between 4pm and 5.25 pm (24 style!)

After i rang Friday evening, ryanair re-instated me on the flight again. They didnt tell me this. They then proceeded to cancel my booking becuase i didnt pay for it!! (as they had refunded the original amount) at no time did they contact me at all!
They then said it was my fault that i didnt ring back friday evening to figure it out and give them my card details.
Honeslty it was comical listening to them trying to explain. So she suggested i send a letter to ryanair and askfor travel vochure

    Oh well..

i was in the airport on friday morning getting a flight to edinburgh and had to pay the extra couple of euros for not checking in on the web....

was giving the girl behind the counter the money and there was a french guy beside me going beserk because he missed his flight....

he thought that the receipt she gave him for paying the extra money was his boarding card and flaked around the airport missing checkin

all she kept saying to him was " sorry sir, but you paid this extra charge two hours ago, what have you been doing since then. your flight left 20mins ago, the cost of a new flight will be 320euros"

could barely hold in the giggles
