REBELLIOUS JUKEBOX – FRIDAY MARCH 14TH

    Serpent Sound

Red Organ Serpent Sound are a rock band from Derry, Northern Ireland formed in 2005 and played around Northern Ireland and Ireland, before signing to Mercury Records. For REBELLIOUS JUKEBOX they will be performing a ‘stripped down’ set under the pseudo name SERPENT SOUND.

If you have been lucky enough to catch the band touring with The Blood Arm, Snow Patrol or dEUS, you’ll know that the Red Organ carnival of misfits is live and dangerous! The band have already been nominated for Best New Irish Act in The Meteors. In 2006, they played at theGlasgowbury Festival.

“This IS ****-pop!”Gary Lightbody, Snow Patrol

“The sound of 80’s Matchbox doing it ‘doggy doggy’ with The Coral” NME

“This is more like it... big rock chanting, a treacherous patch of white noise and three minutes of daft hooks. Smart” Time Out

“Straight outta Marvel Comic books bound the colourful, sexy R.O.S.S, thrillerish, sleazy - an order to get hold of the ultimate high and **** it senseless” The Fly

“This music will go down well anywhere, pubs. clubs, orgies or simply driving very fast on your local autobahn”Clash

“This band are going to be big”What’s On

“Exploding onto the stage spouting refreshing riffs and vocals to match”Artrocker

“R.O.S.S aren’t an ‘about to’ band but have already arrived... Low instincts, high art and so sexy their gigs are reserved sins in certain dioceses”Eamonn McCann, Hot Press

    Mommas Slippers

Momma's Slippers are a five piece punk band from Enniskillen. They started out in March 06 and a year and a half later they have enjoyed the success of their first demo entitled "Punk Chaos" and playing in the Waterfront Hall. With a selection of their own materal the band also enjoy playing covers of their favourite bands such as The Ramones, Rancid, The Sex Pistols and many more. They also include Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Led Zeplin, The Misfits, Queen and Thin Lizzy as influences. The band have no intentions of stopping and are attempting to take over the world one song at a time.

    The Pisstakes

The Pisstakes are another five piece band from Enniskillen and have just finished a four track demo ‘Speaking of Badger” which will hopefully be for sale at the gig. An energetic Pop Punk band so get ready to dance!

    Ground Control

Ground Control are a rock band from Letterkenny. This will be an acoustic set featuring Conal Sweeney and James Gillen and keeps with REBELLIOUS JUKEBOX’s interest in promoting local bands. They have been busy gigging in local venues and in Derry & Dublin and have played support to Shane McGowan.
