I originally had three different accounts on my machine, loads of info. now two are gone and so is half of the info on the harddrive...

the other night i had to delete a password from an account through my admin profile, but it didnt seem to cause any problems. Now only the admin profile is on it. the rest arent hidden r anything. they have just been wiped or something.
    any ideas?

if your answer is virus then don't bother posting thanks.

Is it a workbased laptop? Have you logged on as admin to a local domain, as opposed to the work domain?

Are they still shown under My Computer>>Properties>>Advanced>>User Profiles?

You may have checked this already.

at the command prompt try this to see list of users
    net user

right click on start button and explore all users - if there aren't folders for the users then the profiles may have been deleted

use spacemonger to see what is using space - handy in case folders moved to sub folders
