Hi, Can it be possibe to to connect one pc to another without having a home lan maybe via cable. one pc is xp and other is vista. cheers

what you want is a Cross over cable. looks like a network cable, but wired diffrently

you can get them usb network cables, but they are quite slow

Crossover is the easiest way to do it tbh. You can go for a serial or USB connection but both might not have serial ports, plus both USB and serial are slow...serial being MEGA slow. Any reason you want it specifically " without having a home lan"?
