Getting back from St Petersburg

This a long shot - Anyone know the cheapest way home to Dublin from St petersburg? Managed to get there for only 90euro (Cheap ryanir to Berlin and then Germanwings to STP) and am looking to get the same home. Im thinking of going Air Baltic to Riga, stop in Riga a couple of days and then flying ryanair back to Dublin - total cost about 150euro.

Is riga worth it for a couple of days?

Yep, defo. Was there for 2.5 days in Oct. Lovely little city, great contrast between the new wealth and the old soviet ways. My favourite city out of my northern Europe trip. Check out the In your pocket guide for more info. The Riga Card can also save you some money, gives you free transport and entry to museums etc.

Also Air Baltic fly direct from Riga to Dublin so you might compare their prices to Ryanair. If you need more info let me know!

You could also take the ferry or bus to Tallinn, which is also worth a visit and fly from there with Estonia Air (or take another bus to Riga). They might not be as cheap though, but it's been a few years since I last flew with them. Aer Lingus also fly from Riga so you have 3 options for flying home.

Feck it we took the week off work, were doing Berlin for 3 days (the weekend as we reckon it has the best nightlife) going there Friday till Monday, then flying to St Petersburg Monday to Thursday, then flying to Riga on Thursday till Sunday morning and back to Dub.

Total cost of flights - 180euro
3 nights in hostel in Berlin - 60euro
    Apartment in STP - 90euro
    Hotel in Riga - 40euro

Cant go wrong with that, will cook all our own food and drink cheap vodka every night before we go out!

Also, do you have to have medical insurance before you get a visa? Will get travel insurance, just not yet.

And do i persoanlly have to go inot the embassy? Im in work, my bro is off school all week i was going to send him down?

Have my passport, 2 photos, invitation and 2 application forms filled in. Thats all i need isnt it?

Not sure about having to go in person. Probably not, seeing as you can send by post, but you'd better check. Are you looking for a same day visa?
