Found a Bandit 250

I'm looking to move from my 50cc moped to a bigger bike, i like the look of the Bandit and my bro and his friend used to both have the 250. Any thoughts on it ? I have been told by some they're unreliable although my bro had his for 2 years and it never gave any trouble. I've been looking at Hornet 250's but they seem to go for decent cash.

I hadn't seen any Bandit 250's for sale but stumbled across one at the weekend. Its a 91, red with 46k KMs. Will need a bit of tidying up, fuel tank and fearing under seat could do with a respray due to fading from the sun. Its been lying up so new tyres and pads would prob be a good idea and just needs a good clean. It was serviced a short while ago. I would like something newer but the seller wants €700 for it...

I could maybe buy this and get used to the gears and possibly go for something newer within 6/9 months. Would i have trouble selling it on ?

€700 isn't bad but it's high mileage for a 250 and most of these go somewhere between 25K and 40K so the engine may explode shortly. Parts will be a pain to get and tyres, pads etc will be around €350. Change the brake fluid too.
