:eek:Gave up smokes 04/02/08.Being smoking for over 20 years ,around 20 a day.First time I have given up for so long .Actually started smoking more since they abolished the packs of 10.
Havent used any patches or anything like that yet even though I did buy them.I have having funny sensations alright, heartbeats seem more prominent but I have a normal heart rate.Im really tired during the day though..I have never done so much work in the house since giving them up What is keeping me going is actaully not sitting around for too long;thats when the doubts set in: started doing all those silly jobs I have been avoiding .I keep reading every day those leaflets about giving up ciggies;it really helps. The craving do only last about 5 mins so it is important to distract yourself.Bought the Alan Carr book today so am gonna give it a go.
    How is everyone doing??

Gave up 4 days ago after reading Allen Carr. Have to say the man is a genius. Apart from having one the other night after a good few drinks - I haven't even wanted one besides.

I think once I get over the first few weeks it will be easier to have a few drinks and stay away from them. (I'm hoping).

Have a sore throat since I had that one the other night. Also had a bit of a chesty cough yesterday morning but thats cleared up now.

Feels great to be free of the dirty weeds.

Allen Carr is so right - its not the withdrawal pangs that are difficult - its the self-doubt. Since I made the decision to stop 5 days ago, I have not looked back. I can't believe I didn't do this years ago.
