Suitable Drills for Lowering Flight

Since I've started to get back into golf I've been scooping the ball a lot with the irons. Distance isn't too bad but the flight is dreadful.

I know I need to keep down and through it more, maybe fire my hips a little earlier but of course, because my hands are our of practice, when I try to really commit to it I just hit a huge hook!

I'm getting that off-plane 'arms across my chest' follow through too.

Has anyone any good drills that might help??

My specifics are: tall guy (so not uncommon to hit it high), 6 h'cap with decent fundamentals, neutral grip, good ball position etc and I'm still using my clubs when from i was a lower h'cap and a stronger player which have X100 shafts. These will be fine when I get back into practice and if anything will help me lower the flight but it's certainly a case of 'the indian, not the arrow' ;)
