yeah ive been doin some research....600e to get out there wit 3/4 star acc. flights from knock!,im just worried now that theirs not alot of irish goin there, apparently very popular with those pesky scandanavians lol but i suppose would be a change from the typical irish themed spanish holiday!:D

Will be plenty Irish there,a few scandanavians, but loads and loads of russians..

Sunny Beach is a great resort. It's a pity that ryanair or easyjet dont fly there though, if it wasn't as expensive to get there it would have a lot more of us going.

Never been to bulgaria before and yer going half board:eek:
Am use to the food by now but its the biggest complaint i hear about the country.
Your ribs will be very sore when ye come back from the holiday due to all the punches your girlfriend will be giving you, when she catches you drooling over them russian and ukranian women :D

I've traveled all across Bulgaria. Sofia, Koprivisitza, Veliko Turnovo, Plovdiv. The people there were the best people I've ever met traveling anywhere period. The hospitality is amazing, never been given so much free stuff in my life. Sunny beach however is about twice as expensive as anywhere else in the country. If I were you I'd go independent and book a hotel further north somewhere like Varna. Sunny Beach is like a bad 70's resort on the costa del somewhere, really tacky. The beach on the other side of the peninsula that Nesebur is on is much nicer.

your spot on about the hospitality, very friendly and them with not a bit of english..they like their rakia, a harmless drink they make;)
We have place in a village south of Bourgas and yes sunny beach is twice as dear on most fronts but still very, very cheap compared to what were use to in Ireland.

One warning on Sunny Beach..... Use the banks for exchange !! The exchange booths will rip you off, one way or another... And try to avoid Taxi's as much as possible.

There is a restaurant called 'Djanni's', if you can find it it's well worth it!!! Great food at Bulgarian Prices...

Djannis, 1st night ever in Bulgaria and thats were somebody took me..
It was great alright, its where the bulgarians themselves go, so that tells its own story..also had my first taste of rakia there:eek::(
Taxis are not too bad if ye sort out the price first, will clean ye otherwise..
Also when we nod are heads up and down for "yes" and sideways for "no", its the opposite over there:confused:

You can use your bank card in the ATM machine, just make sure your card has cirrus or maestro on the back of it.

you can indeed, Bullbank and Raffenstein(I think that's how it's spelt) are the cheapest to use when you are here. Each bank has it's own charges. And I've never had any problems with my Irish ATM card. But do be carefull using Credit Cards, seriously!! Big scam here with them, especially foriegn ones that are taken behind the counter, out of sight.
