    Hi
    I'm looking into buying a D300
I've found DL Kirkpatrick and Jessops in Belfast with about the same price (1100 STG incl 17.5 VAT)
I'm registered in VAT in Ireland and I wonder if I'll be able to clam VAT back over a buy in the UK

also, has anyone anything to say about DL Kirkpatrick?
I've received mailing saying they're coming to the red cow hotel this week to do a trade show
they have priced the D300 at 979 STG (only to compare to the Jessops price that is 1150 incl 17.5 VAT) and a promise to invoice with irish VAT will end up at 1600 euros incl VAT

that's a save of over €150 (before VAT) and worth looking into it
but I have no feedback about them

Generaly if you buy outside the state you can't claim back the VAT, instead you provide your VAT number and pay the ex VAT price. Some outside companies which trade goods above a certain level each year into Ireland invoice their Irish buyers in euro and charge VAT in the normal way, you can claim back this VAT, if the goods are for business use;).

The price seems reasonable enough I had a quick look here and its broadly similar, I've always found them to be very reliable and competitive.
