Hiya, I'm looking to see if anyone on here knows about livery yards/riding schools that do livery around the maynooth, lucan, Leixlip, Celbridge, Clane area?? Even West Dublin is acceptable! Preferrably a place that has good show jumping/x-country facilities!! Please either reply to me here or PM me!! Oh and if you know prices as well that'd be great!!

    thanks!!
    xxxx

I am afraid I don't know - but have a look on http://www.theequestriandirectory.com/ for the list of all Irish horse stuff. You will probably find something there.

I currently have a horse in livery in kildare international riding centre www.kildareinternational.ie . located 5 mins from naas on the blessington side. took me 15mins to drive to clane before if that helps. i find it a very good yard as i have ridden in most yards south dublin and found it for my personal interests to be the best. livery however is quite expensive, 650e for a horse and i thnik 520e for a pony, however this includes free group lessons which they have at suitable time everyday, i.e weekdays half 4 and half 5 for intermediate and adult lessons on a monday and weds.riding club is held on a thursday. the yard itself is open most night till 9 and sometimes later, at the weekend on sat there loads of lessons and one on a sunday morning. i find it an extremely friendly atmosphere with plenty of staff for help. privates are also available, they have a large indoor arena divided into a large section and a smaller area for younger less experienced riders. outside there are two sand arenas one of which has a jumpcross course including steps and a dip. clear rounding jumping shows are regularly held too. i hope this helps with your search

I was looking at Kildare Internation there about 2 weeks ago, it's a lovely place, but it's a long way from me, it took us about 45 mins to get there! But thanks for your help though! (650 ... is that per week?) Actually if you could tell me some of the names of the other stables you mentioned in south dublin that might help!!

    thanks though!!

Hi Jenny I know theres a big yard up in maynooth that the maynooth riding club is based out of - have you tried there? If you google maynooth riding club you will find their website!. Theres also a yard in straffan I am not sure if they still do livery.
Theres also kill international in Kill (not too far from Maynooth if you come in via straffan road).

Abbeylands - halfway bewteen Clane and Barberstown, turn off is between the vets and bus stop. I dont know what they charge but very good atmosphere around the yard - small and friendly, no indoor as of last summer, lots of land.

Couldnt find my contact details for Abbeylands and did a quick search in goldenpages but no luck. Abbeylands Riding Club might have details for the yard, search Kildare Co at http://www.airc.ie/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=77

    Some listings from AIRE http://www.aire.ie/riding_centres/kildare

Is this of any use to you?

    http://www.moyridingcentre.ie/

According to the AA Summerhill is 17.5 kms from Maynooth and it takes 29 min to drive.

That looks like a really nice place and 70 euro a week for a pony!! I would so be interested! (getting a 14.2 ... just taking advantage of the pony livery rates! ha)

Thanks for that, I'll have a chat with one of the parents and see about going to have a look!!
    thanks!

Have a look at the Irish Field directory... www.irishfield.com

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,770 ✭✭✭Jen Pigs Fly

Alibear you reminded me to look in the irish field, never thought to look there (newspaper or website) haha how could I have been so blind!

Found out today in school that my guidance counceller has hunters, had a really stimulating converation with her while I was dossing of irish and biology about buying horses and livery, she said she'd keep an eye out for a place!
I fell like I have everyone looking for me haha!

How about Charlie O'Neill's place in Clane?
    http://www.abbeyfieldfarm.com/livery-page.html
All the facilities you seem to want :)
