Not looking for C&C as such, I just got myself a macro lens and have just *tried* to calibrate my monitor from a few prints I got back that I thought were too dark. So I'm looking for some feedback on how this looks on calibrated screens.

I don't have a calibrated screen, but I really like the shot. Nicely done

it looks fine on my screen. but i reckon your problem is the brightness of your screen. general most problems people have is that the screen manufacturers have the brightness set really high, far to high for picture editing

try turning the brightness of your screen to around 30% and try another print

looks fine on my screen too - BUT - that is the screen that i normally complain about things looking dreadful on. When i print from something that looks fine on this screen it usually turns out brutal on paper. Not quite sure what that means about your image - is it too 'something or other' that my bad dell lcd display is balancing out to look fine.

By the way, for a macro take; i like the image a lot. Nice depth of field - not too much but just enough imho and black/white works nicely too i think.

    Cheers.
