Sky Box v Sky+box

    Hi folks,
A friends of mine has a sky sub, (sport etc.) and his sky box has just died. He was given a sky+ box by someone moving house, but appearantly he can not pair his current card with a Sky + box.
    Firstly is this correct?

I have an old sky box which I just use for FTA. He could have my old box, if I would be able to use the Sky+ box for FTA. Would it work the same as my current box for FTA?
Finally would anyone know the cost of a remote for a Sky + box.
    Thanks
    Dave

    Thanks
He did n't call as the original box only died last night, and he was told by someone that the card could not be paired with a Sky plus box.

Your friend can get the card paired with the sky+ box he simply needs to ring sky and tell them, however if he would like to use the Sky+ features such as recording and watching another channel simultaneously he will require a Quad lnb to be fitted to his dish and a second cable to be ran from the dish to the box.

You cannot use the Sky+ features without an active subscription.

It can be, just call customer support. I have done it previously in the same circumstances.

    Thanks lads,
pairing the card to the Sky plus box would be the easiest thing. it's just that he was told by someone else that it could not be done.
    Thanks again

The sub for Sky + recording features has been done away with for some time now ,

As you can see , Sky + features are free , if you have just one box ( sky + ) and the necessary lnb and cables then you can record whatever channels you happen to be receiving without a extra sub.

The Sky+ featurs are free so long as you have an active subscription...without it you cannot use it.
