Cab Question

I recently picked up a Mongotone 2 x 10 8ohm cab. I use it with my Mesa LSS and it's more the tone I was looking for than the 1 x 12 in the combo.

On the back of the amp however there are 2 8ohm outs. 1 for use at 30 watts and one for use at 35 watts. Is it possible to use both or will this cause damage to the amp? Currently I just use the 30 watt 8ohm out and leave the 1 x 12 disconnected.

Oh, and the pics will be posted soon as I am waiting on a guitar and will post the lot together. ;)

i think you could use two 16ohm cabs in parallel cause then the amp would still be seeing 8ohms
I might be wrong though, sorry been a long time since i done sound engineering and i've forgotten alot of the maths! :D

There's actually only one 8ohm output on the LSS, and two 'main' 4ohm outputs.

The 8ohm output (the one marked 'optional') is mainly for using with the 30watt power section, as it provides a better impedance match and that's the reason it puts out a little more power (35watts).

However, you can use any combination of the three with any power setting, as long as you understand how the combined ohmages work. There's good info in the Mesa/Boogie manual about the reason for the different outputs, and also every Boogie manual has a section in the rear with diagrams explaining how to correctly combine different outputs and cabs etc.
