Hi I got a Nokia 6500 on 3 there almost 3 weeks ago

the screen on it was always a bit dodgy, but tonight me and my mate were messing around acting the fools basically and when I went to check my phone again the screen was fairly cracked and all the colours were messed up, you can;t make out anything on the phone
I accept that the damage is my fault but Id like to know my options.

If I call 3 and say that the phone is broken will they replace it? I did only buy it 3 weeks ago so its well within warranty.

Sould I change around my story (so 3 lose a bit of money ive been paying them loads for 3 years now), say the phone was faulty etc

Am I entitled to a replacement or it getting fixed?

    thanks for the help advance?

Sorry bud, it won't wash with 3 or any network. Broken is broken. There is a repair shop in Sth Anne St or Duke St. No idea of costs. If you could change your number, suggest you go get a new one . Sorry I could not be of more help.:(

Your warranty does not cover damaged caused by the customer. Three has a replacement scheme but this involves extending your contract. If there's cracks in the screen then there's no way anyone other than an idiot will take it back and give you a new one.

the thing is that the second you broke the screen the warranty ended so its not in warranty even though you only bought it two weeks ago. if it was any other network i'd say you'd have to pay about €60 to have the screen fixed but you never know with 3. their repair system is quite odd

erm,how exactly? how does breaking phone of your own doing mean you should be given something that other customers dont get? i've owned 2 volkswagen cars does that mean if i buy another one and ram it into a wall that i should have it repaired by volkswagen free of charge because its "in warranty" and i've pumped money into them? thats just nonsense, you broke the phone, you need to buy a new one, simple as,a warranty covers faults with the phone when you get it, if the screen has always been faulty you should have reported it straight away

    up to €120 or so.

I only paid €99 for the phone and your telling me I could pay up to €120

yes you could. What part of it don't you understand?
The cost of the handset itself is quite high without a contract, normaly around €400. you got it at a subsidised price. Components on their own like screens aren't that expensive off the internet but what you pay for is the cash for a guy to actually fix it for you.

€120 is if you get an official, nokia approved repair done. Another route would be the unofficial repair route.

If you fail to understand any of this you can pm me and have a chat and I can explain the situation more.
