Look like good shots to me....

The two Damien Duff shots are good.

Nice shots of Duff and the Irish team.

I think you need to get that monitor calibrated. ;)

    Very good photos.

    No.3 for me, great expression.

Excellent stuff, have you a larger resolution pic of the team during the minutes silence?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,200 ✭✭✭kensutz

Nice pics and yes you need to get the monitor calibrated. I saw you taking the pics of the 2 kids who sat a few rows down from me.

Bearing in mind I was behind goal at Davin stand end and they were on the far side of the centre circle, will this do?

Great stuff, looks well the wallpaper on the widescreen monitor. Cheers.

The colours seem just a bit too bright to me (on my uncalibrated monitor :) )

But great pictures - I like the 3rd shot the most - very action filled.

Thankfully, Dell have agreed to fully replace my knackered 14 month old xps desktop.

Once that arrives, I'll need to borrow someones spyder to calibrate the monitor again. They look ok on this basic lcd screen but I expect they are not great.

for sports photos such as these, do you have the camera low down almost on the ground? thats the impression I get, though I could be wrong.

Yes, no more than three feet off the ground on a monopod.

Don't normally give c&c but the third one is very good.

    I think they're excellent.

Best thing I've seen about that nondescript game!

Lovely set there. Colours are a little bright but thats only slight. The duffer one is great, and the kids is a nice capture..

LOL, on my backside, pitchside, beside Peadar in first half, but I reckon he couldn't be seen next to a Nikonite!

very good pics, once u have them raw u have no worries about callibration, my monitor aint callibrated but i know the difference from my screen to printer, what i see on my screen i know when i print it, it will be a little darker, but its ok, i just up it a little then i get what was on my screen.....
But anyway VERY nice pics, fair balls to u.

The third one wins for me in terms of composition and subject etc.... That almost sounds like I know stuff!

A lot of this stuff is hit and miss. The last one for example suffers from the fact that the brazillian seems to be a monopod too. :)
The photo is too sharp and looks kinda like a statue. Compare that to no. 3 which is also crisp and sharp but conveys a moment caught in time. Dunno why one works and one doesnt though....

I would have left out the last one. The rest, barring a little motion blur are great.
Perhaps a few f-stops lower and they'd be perfect.
Do you shoot by aperture or by shutter?

the eldest son asked for a loan of one of my cameras for the match!!

I think he was expecting something that might look like a 1 Series with a 400 f/2.8 L IS Lens hanging off it

    ;)

    he got a G 7

Love the last one Peadar and the one of Duff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,219 ✭✭✭Calina

No 1 is terrific Peadar. Love the way the pair are arm in arm...I shouldn't say this but it looks almost like they're dancing or skating or something.

    Great photos guys.
How do you get photographers passes for the pitchside? Would love to get some for the rugby coming up

Wouldn't have a hope in getting the rugby passes. As for FAI you need an accreditation.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,381 ✭✭✭✭Paulw

IRFU are very particular about who they let in. You basically need to be with a media organisation.

Had a request for some Aidan McGeady shots.

Here's an example of what I got...
