Taking a week off in March....around mid term.
Can anyone sugest somewhere to go??
Im not overly fussy.....a bit of warmth would be nice....and also it not coasting the earth.
Every time i do this i spend ages looking for something a bit different and interesting but never find anything affordable so we end up going on a package holiday to Spain ect.
    Ideas greatly appreciated.
    Cheers.

Probably a bit late to decide this, what with booking flights and all! But if you plan enough in advance, you could have a few days in the likes of Boston or Chicago on a very tidy budget!

just back from malta yesterday, weather was amazing the whole time we were there. Incredibly built up on the main island especially near valletta. but there are some really nice beaches near the north of the main island away from the sprawl (e.g. golden bay). Malta consists of two main islands (and loads of smaller islands), malta and gozo which is about a third the size of the main island but with loads of sights and attractions/towns in its own right. Malta has been the setting for lots of movies including the blue lagoon

you could do worse, ryanair fly direct to malta from dublin and st julians next to the capital valletta has loads of nightlife options

Can you give us a bit more info OP? I get the impression you're travelling with a family - if so how many kids and what is the maximum amount of flying time you'd consider, average budget?

Or are you going with girlfriend, group of lads etc?

I spent 2 weeks in Tunisia on a sun holiday with my family years ago and wasn't great (it was feb. though so not very warm), lots of hassle walking around the resort. I also spent a few months in Egypt and it was great. I was backpacking but you can get some really good deals on a package, depending on how energetic you are you could spend a few days on the Red Sea, sunbathing and snorkling and a few days in Luxor or Cairo seeing the sites. Luxor was about high 20's in mid March so plenty of sun. If you just wanted to flake out on the beach you could do that but if you get bored there's plenty to see and do. Budget travel do good package deals there. If you stay away from the hotel restaurants then food is very very cheap. I got by on 1200 euros for 2 months (includes all food, accomodation, internal travel etc)
