    does anyone out there know the situation on the n.c.t. i know a judge was fined lately for not having one, but i keep hearing that it is not legal under the e.u. laws or such. i had an expired one recently and got stopped by a garda who presently ignored it, even after i stupidly pointed it out to him

    The NCT is a legal requirement but largely ignored by the gardai.
