    well guys

I got office 08 a few weeks ago and its working great except for one thing. When i go to print handouts from powerpoint, It stalls completely and and i have to force quit the application. Some lecture powerpoints do print but the majority don't

Thanks in advance for any advice

Are you setting the correct paper size for the document, i.e. A4 landscape or portrait instead of the usual default of US Letter. This caused a few problems for me.

I have office 2008 about 2 weeks now, i like it. Have not used it enough to be a real expert. I have not used powerpoint yet, but when i saw this thread i just went out of my way to use it and then print something off. I had no trouble printing and it was my first time to print something from powerpoint.

My opinion so far about office 2008 for mac. ( i got the home version) -- It is really good, well worth the money. I am so glad i bought it. I still love iwork 08 and i still use it. I don't think i have used keynote in iwork 08 yet, and i have it since it came out last october, or was it earlier than that, gee, i forget.

Anyway -point, i would give iwork 10/10 and i would give office 9/10. Two very good scores, just because i give office less does not think i think bad of it. It is just that putting pictures into a page in office is not as easy ( it is not difficult ) as it is to put a picture into a page in pages. iwork works way better with iphoto, i guess it is all because of the apple thing going on.

I was badly frustrated by MS Office 2004 lately.
Spellcheck never worked and I think you have to select British English as the language which just ain't good enough.
It was very slow to load and while I love my macbook I just find MS Office far easier to use on the Windows computer in work.

Downloaded iWork 08 during the week for a 30 day trial. Now maybe I messed it up but I couldn't open my existing word documents and spreadsheet without the formatting being messed up.

I considered buying Office 08 but I searched old threads and other posters advised Neoffice so I downloaded that yesterday.

I'm not saying iWork 08 or MS Office 08 aren't excellent products but I suspect NeoOffice is powerful enough for 90% of everyday tasks.
