very strange. I just got a new pc, running vista, when I open an ipoker client it takes control of my mouse and the cursor keeps moving to the top left of my screen.

doesn't happen with any other program.

    what's going on?

Sounds like a busted ahk script, have you any of them installed on the new system. The only other thing is maybe vista has a drunkometer or tiltometer that knows when your drunk/tilted ect and is trying to close down the application although i know you said the left but if you were drunk/tilting everything gets distorted, fold looks like raise/all in, left looks like right etc etc etc

nearly threw my pc out the window once because of the cursor dragging to the left. Turns out the wheel on the centre of my mouse had a left/right axis and that was clicked left.

Replace the mouse with an old one and prove its not the hardware. If that works then you know its something to do with that specific mouse.

Does it only happen with iPoker?? (I thought this had been resolved so I changed the subject to something more informative... if it only happens with iPoker I'll change it again)...

yeah I've tried it with two other mice (an optic one and a ps/2) and the same thing happens. and yeah it only happens with ipoker, with both clients that i have on my pc. hasn't happened yet with any other program.

    but it didn't help.

Weird... I use Vista and iPoker and havent had this problem... I'm not sure what to say to you to be honest. Hopefully the more informative subject line will attract some others who might be able to help.

Not sure Phantom and i cant help you because i dont use Win Vista but some things worth investigating, maybe De Vore can confirm what software Ipoker uses when ipoker launches like Java etc since it seems to be something that launches around that time that causes the conflict

Then compare your version drivers for all the applicable software with Dev or someone else that has Vista and Ipoker but that dosent have the problems you have, then if possible upgrade/downgrade to have the same versions/drivers as he has for the software since your confident that its not the mice to at least narrow the problem.

I presume ipoker uses Java on some level, that would be a good a place to start and compare what versions ye have. Also what other programs are running at the same time in Task Manager > Applications, then try closing each one and testing each time to see if that makes a difference

have you run all the service packs and upgrades etc that Microsoft have available (not just the mouse related ones)?
Thinking about it, since this is a new machine its probably unpatched etc.

You should patch it right up to date (will take an hour or two) and keep doing it until it reports no patches left to apply. It will take a few reboots.

I used to have this problem, although it happened with all programs. I assume the mouse is running through USB, yeah? Using a PS/2 convertor and plugging it into the green PS/2 port sorted it out for me.

Without proper specs etc it is hard to tell. Check there is no fluff in the laser part of the mouse or go to controlpanel>mouse and in the options there make sure the "Auto move mouse to a default button" is unchecked."

if you plug out your mouse does it still happen? just to isolate the problem to the mouse....

I just ordered my new PC and am going to stick to XP for now... I still think vista has enough holes to park a fleet of buses!

mouse is perfect, just something wrong with the drives, but i've downloaded everything that's relevent and it's still the same.

got it working by changnig the installed device in the mouse settings from what it is (wireless laser 5000) to a basic mouse. pretty weird.

edit: lol, I put it back to the proper mouse and it's working fine. must have been some of the settings that I was messing around with that fixed it instead.

weird.... apart from that verdict on the comp?

very sweet. handles everything really well

eyepoker+pt are both way way faster. just using pokerev now and it loaded thousands of hands pretty much instantly.
