hey guys,

just a bit of an update with me since my last post about suicide, depression, no confidence etc.

I was getting worried about college recently....I was thinking that maybe my tutors and relative tutors were seeing me under the wrong light, the type that portrays laziness, irresponsibility, lack of motivation, not bothered with the course etc..


So, I decided to confront my main tutor about what has been going on with me, depression etc. Thankfully he took it well, he was very surprized as he always took me as a happy go lucky person...he was very sympathetic....this was last friday, stayed in his office for about an hour, it was fairly emotional but it was good as he opened up to me..telling about the problems that he was having at home...with his father suffering from alzheimers disease, and his mother suffering from depression.

He then understood about my absent days, and the illusion that I wasnt that interested in the course....

He then told the head of the department to let them know. I didnt feel all that much better, but its nice knowing their aware of my situation.

The same day i mentioned it to a good mate of mine in college, he took it well also....he said that if I ever need anyone to talk to about it....that I could ring him anytime.

atleast these 2 people now know....makes me feel a lil better...

I just hope that I can keep up with the positive thinking until its resolved

It's amazing what talking to people will do for you. Of course, it's also hard to open up to people and let them know what is going on in your head. Use this positive step to drive you forward.

Well done for taking that step and good luck with the future.

Fair play to you Teddi. That is such a positive step to take. I've been there so I can understand to a degree - it's different for everyone. Believe me things get so much better - give it a bit of time. Keep thinking in a positive way.

Well done for speaking to the appropiate people. It's amazing what you'll find out by talking to people and realising what they are dealing with behind the fascade they bring to the everyday world.
