I'm in a rut of listening to the same stuff on my ipod these days.

Suggest some old or new music that you like, that I might like :)

Here's what's getting the most plays on the ipod right now.

    The National
    The Field
    Arcade Fire
    Kings of Leon
    Radiohead
    Amy Macdonald
    The Smiths
    Vitalic

Definitely Band of Horses, Broken Social Scene, the Shins and Okkervil River. I'd also mention the Cure and Television. And Interpol and Modest Mouse.
I'd say that'd be what you're looking for, on the basis of those artists you've mentioned.

Anyone see Okkervil River in Belfast on Saturday? Excellent, those guys are just SO great live!

I would suggest Biffy Clyro to anyone who hasn't heard them.
    Neutral Milk Hotel
    Death Cab for Cutie
    Enter Shikari
    The Go Team

sure, some of that is pretty different to what you are currently listening to but that can be a good thing!

    I'd recommend:

    Calexico
    The Sea And Cake
    Low (they're really great)
    Mogwai
Cake (the best cover "I will survive" ever)
    British Sea Power

    ...and many, many others :-)

To replace Vitalic; Justice, Digitalism, Simian Mobile Disco, Young Punx or MSTRKRFT.

Broken Social Scene are great too. Vampire Weekend are getting alot of playtime for me at the moment.

Can't go a day, or even half a day without listening to Jukebox from Cat Power. But Quarryman, i like all the stuff you have listed and i reckon if you haven't already heard it that you'd love At Dawn by My Morning Jacket. An absolute classic yet really underrated album

Actually, while i'm hear and i reckon not enough people have heard his stuff i'm gonna say Lunar.

Black Mountain. They have jsut released their second album and both are great. Band of horses are also fantastic and I like the sound of Mgmt. Also recommend the recent albums by Cathy Davey and The Flaws.

New albums that I've been enjoying over the last couple of weeks:

    Bob Mould - District Line
American Music Club - the Golden Age
    Lightspeed Champion - Lavender Bridge
Adrian Crowley - Long Distance Swimmer

2008 has been a good year for music so far.

My ultimate recommendation would be David Bowie. You cannot get bored of Bowie because he is proficent in sounds ranging from rock to soul to jungle to ambient or to use the term I prefer 'new wave'. 'Low' (the one with the orange cover) is a great album for the ipod I think. It's full of instrumentals, my two favourite ones being 'Warszawa' and 'Subterranean'. If you like Radiohead and The Smiths as I do then I'd say these slightly mournful but very therapeutic tracks are well worth adopting onto your ipod. Of course, I recommend most of Bowie's albums. Scary Monsters, Ziggy Stardust, Diamond Dogs, Hunky Dory, Aladdin Sane, Station to Station, Lodger, Earthling, Outside and Heathen are the other of his albums (possibly in that order) that I suggest you get.
Have you not got any Moz on your ipod considering you like The Smiths.
The Stone Roses are the ones that I'm listening to most at the moment.
If you haven't heard some of Pulp's 80s and early 90s output then I'll suggest that too along with the previously very-difficult-to-get tracks that appeared on the deluxe editions of His N Hers, This is Hardcore and Different Class. The extras on these reissues are magnificent. Jarvis Cocker's solo album was decent enough too.
Another person mentioned Kate Bush and Bjork and I have to agree with that. I only started listening to Kate meself last summer and if there's one album from her that I recommend it's 'The Dreaming'. It didn't go down well when it was released but has since been duly hailed.
That's about it at the moment. Hope you choose some of these.

    Matthew Dear - Asa Bread
    Burial - Untrue
Joy Division - Any album all worth a listen (especially with The Smiths mention)
Okkervil River - agree with everyone definitely a goer
Explosions in the Sky - just about anything
Sia - bit of a weird one but does a great track with Beck
I think I always recommend it but give 'Les Fleurs' by Four Hero a listen.
Justice, digitalism, simian mobile disco and MSTKRT (I'll never remember that ****ing name) all well worth a listen
Roots Manuva, Aphex Twin, The Apples In Stereo, Dillinger Escape Plan.
Most definitely Against Me! new album, New Wave.
Soul Wax - Much Against Everyone's Advice and Nite Versions
LCD Sound System - Sound of Silver
Daft Punk - Alive (One of the best live albums)
Yep that's me pretty much done.

    The Do
    Findo Gask
