A friend of mine and I really want to go to a festival in Europe this summer (where we can nearly be guaranteed nice weather) and we're looking for recommendations.
Were at the "other" festival last year and the line up was perfect. Anything with Kings of Leon Arcade Fire etc would be perfect.:D

Pukkelpop is amazing. Had both Arcade Fire and KOL last year along with the Pumpkins, Tool, NiN, My Brightest Diamond, Henry Rollins and just a load of amazing other bands.

It's in Belgium so the weather is fairly decent but not constant sun. Ended with a huge firework display as well. You're allowed leave the campsite and go to the nearest village (one each on both side) to pick up any things you might need and most of the locals open up breakfast and dinner tents in their front gardens.

Ticket last year was 130 euro which included bus and rail travel from the airport both to and from the festival and you could pick up return flights for around 70 so the total cost was about 200 for a 3 day festival (5 days of camping) + general tent and food cost.

Would recomend the Isle of Wight Festival, think that the dates have changed to July this year, was there a couple of years ago and it was scorching, plus at the bottom of the uk, sure its like the med!!!

Dour in Belgium. Should be only about 90 euro for four days including camping.

People always seem to forget Bang Your Head, a sister festival to Wacken held the same weekend as Grasspop Metal Meeting. BYH is held in Germany and costs just €65 a ticket and you get a great lineup. This year there's bands like Judas Priest, Hardcore Superstar, White Lion, Saxon and Great White. You get a classic metal feel and its extremely well run and organised.
