Backlight Grounding Issue (dim/flicker)

Hi everybody , and thanks for any input in advance.

Basically I broke the inverter board on my laptop ( acer 9423wsmi ) and put in the replacement today and its all going well until one side of the screen has started to dim and flicker ... i know this is a problem that would point to something like one of the tubes or the inverter power cable being dodgey but i am starting to think it is an issue with the grounding of the inverter or there is some form of voltage imbalance in the system . This is because touching certain screws in the screen housing or even rubbing my hand along part of the outside of the plastic casing causes the problem to temporarily go away . So im thinking something is causing some static to build up perhaps ? Any input at all is greatly appreciate :)

    cheers

Nevermind , dodgey wire it seems , my touching the casing must have just been moving it in and out of contact ... talk about over thinking the matter :D
