buddhist temples in ireland

    Hi all, Apologies first of all because I know this question must have been asked a few times.is there any buddhist temples in ireland?

    reasions i ask is that my wife is buddhist from thailand.we have been to thai buddhist temples in birmingham before but where woundering if there where any in ireland.

    any feedback would be great.

    Afraid not Pat. There are only centres really as opposed to full time temples attached to monasteries. Where in Ireland are you based?

    The closest building we have to a temple would be the Karma Kagyu centre in Inchicore Dublin 8. It is of the Vajrayana tradition and follow urgyen Dorje.

    just looked at the website as is very interesting.

    one more question regards to the different teachings and talks on buddhism
    in and around dublin,do you know if there is any place thay do talks on the
    Theravada tradition ?

    I had feeling that was coming! :)

    I asked a friend about this and he says these 2 are the only groups he knows of. He's not sure if they do talks or what their programmes entail.

    There is a temple in north Dublin city somewhere. Can't recall but I think it is a Thai one. I recall an article in paper about it some time ago.
