I don't know if it's a string of bad days or what but I'm considering moving departments and really don't know what to do.

I'm working in a finance department at the moment and have 7 exams to complete in the ACCA (which I'm supposed to start later this month) but really don't know if my heart is in it. The area I'd be considering moving to would be more customer related.

I'm considering putting a transfer in to move to another section of the company, but am I crazy acting on how I feel this week? I've been here almost 2 years and really don't see any chance of promotions or likewise unless I complete the ACCA, and even then it still wouldn't be guaranteed!

Ahhh, anyone got any advice or words of wisdom?

It does sound like you are having a bad week so straight away don't make any rash decisions this week!

About the exams, if you were to pass these would they stand to you if you wanted to leave the company and take your experience and qualifications somewhere else?

Sometimes starting out and getting exams can take it's toll and often leave you questioning your career path.

I can't really tell you what to do but whatever you decide to do make sure you spend some time thinking it over and don't rush into anything.

As for changing departments, well it's not necessarily a bad thing, if you have proven yourself in the company already and have the motivation to prove yourself in another department then it might pay off but don't just do it as a means to get out of what you are already in because who knows, you may not like the new department either.
