Playing .avi files

Right, haven't used my PS3 for playing avi files yet so I thought I'd give it a whirl. Burned a file onto a CD and popped it in. Nothing. It's not even recognising the CD as far as I can tell (it's not showing up as an icon anywhere).

    Any ideas?

avi is just a container what video and audio codec are you using, it won't show what can't be played, but can be set to show all

My bad. I copied it from a computer that didn't have DivX on it. Updated the computer and it seems to work now.
