Bluetooth proximity warning device??

    Hi there

i recently had my phone(N93) stolen from a table in front of me while eating dinner on o'connel st with my girlfriend. A quick flash of a metro in my face to distract me and my phone, which was sitting on the table was gone. i didn't realize it had been removed until the guy was out the door and un-followable. heard of similar things been done at atms.

is there any bluetooth device(s) out there which will alert you when your phone is or other item ie laptop is more than a certain distance away and/or its general direction? ive heard of a few devices like the bluetooth watch that does this to some degree but i'd rather not go into that sort of price range for basic security.

any help on the matter would be much appreciated.
