pre hung doors and plastering

    Hi all

    i am trying to orginse to get some plastering done in side of my self build and the plaster says he needs door frames to plaster to.

    i want to install pre hung doors what is the rule of thumb here do i get the doors installed and then remove the door from the frame to save them gettting wrecked.

    also do i need to have the window boards in ???

    When I am required to install pre hung door sets on a project I put up temporary door jambs for the plaster to work to making sure measurements are spot on allowing 10mm each side and head for trueing up the final installed door sets

    Yes you need window boards in place for the plasterer to finish up to

    Depending on how many doors you have to install and plasterers on the job you might get away with a few temp door jambs and move them around

    I used 15mm sheets of OSB ripped to frame with on all my opes, and just dumped them afterwards. Cheap, and easy to work with.
