Can't add video to iPod

Hi I have an iPod Classic and have been using it mostly for music but tried to add a .mpeg video file to iTunes but it won't work. I'm going File --> Add file but it won't do anything when I try to open it. If I can't get it in the iTunes music library how can I transfer it to my iPod?

Tried the help functions in iTunes, didn't help. Anyone know how to do this?!

    Thanks :)

AFAIK you can't play mpegs on an iPod or iTunes, it needs to be ".mov", ".m4v", or ".mp4"

if you used videora to convert the video then it automatically adds it to itunes when finished converting.

if you have a normal mp4 video you wana put on the ipod, did you try the simple "drag and drop" into itunes?

    hope this helps.

Oh..*slaps forehead* I'm an idiot. Didn't know iPods can't play mpegs. That sucks, why on earth wouldn't they make iPods compatable with mpeg files. Ok so I'm going to have to download ANOTHER program to convert this. Any recommendations? I don't have much disc space on this laptop so it would need to be small.

    Thanks again

3gp converter is a good one as well. Don't let the name fool you it converts more then just 3gp.
