Can anyone tell me if any of the X04 or X05 Archos players will let me play videos on my tv WITHOUT having to buy an add on ? Also, has anyone tried to connect a 605 up to something that takes a flash drive - I have a dvd player that can take a USB input.

AFAIK you need a DVR Station to playback to TV. I got one (for my 405) and it works well. But mostly I want to watch DVDs on my Archos rather than watch my Archos on a TV. I don't see the point of TV playback and I crop my DVDs to 320x240 (405 screen size) to save file space, so TV playback is grainy.

TV playback is only possible with a DVR station afaik. I use it quite a bit to watch tv series from my cousins on my telly and the quality is excellent, and not at all grainy since I don't crop them like the poster above, and the 605 is also 800x480 res.

TV playback is possible with most (if not all) the docks, the cheapest of which is the mini dock which outputs to tv and also charges it rapidly (as opposed to usb) and goes for about €30
