changing from eircom dialup to vodafone 3g broadband for internet access.

    currently can't send emails.

is anybody here using vodafone mobile 3g broadband for internet access and using microsoft outlook as there email client for an eircom.net email account?

if so what settings do you use for

    1. incoming pop server

    2. outgoing smtp server

    3. do you use "log on using secure password sharing SPA"

    4. do you use any settings for outgoing mail server authentication

    any help would be great
    regards
    paul

had this problem until recentlyand support replied as follows:

    Hi Michael,

In order to send email using Vodafone as your internet service
provider you will need to change the Outgoing Mail Server to
    'mail.vodafone.ie'.
This can be changed in Outlook by going to Tools>Email accounts>
Select your email address> More Settings >Outgoing mail
server>Change> Select ok and then 'Next' and 'Finish'.

    Thank You
    Vodafone Data Support

    The basic rule is:

For receiving mail the pop3 setting of whoever provides your email

(you may have to set up a sign in)

and for sending mail the smtp of the isp you are with.
