    K. Looking at this.

I have previous experience of using a Dual Sim Adapter and found battery life was adversely affected. I'm wondering if this contraption would have a simialr effect

Using one here with a Nokia 6300 and it works perfect. Phone was on O2 and using a Vodafone sim in it.
    Available here
No difference on battery life, but you must remember the dual sim one you used before is using more power as its powering 2 lines effectively

I got one of those and tried a 3pay sim in a Vodafone phone and it says sim not valid. I tried an o2 sim in the same phone and it works. The 3 sim works fine in a 3 / sim free phone

Anyone with experience of this working with a 3 sim and anyone know why it works with one and not with another??

Make sure the card is cut enough. I had this also and one card was cut slightly smaller than the other and the chip on the sim adapter wasnt fully coming through. Also, I use a small piece of sellotape or something to hold them firmly together in case it is not aligned correctly

    Hmm

Tried with 2 x 3 sim cards, 1 x o2, 1x Meteor, 1 x tesco, 1 x Vodafone. I can't get it to work with the 3 sims. Perfect on everything else, so I must be notching right.

What kind of phone is it?
Are you trying a 3 sim in a non 3g phone maybe?

Assuming the phone is not network-locked, is your SIM adapter USIM/3G SIM compatible? Most aren't, so the material would probably advertise this as a feature if it did.

    It's a Nokia 6234 with generic (6233 firmware).

The phone is locked to Vodafone.

The TurboSIm allows me to use an o2, Meteor & Tesco SIM. If I tried this without the Turbo Sim, the message "sim not valid" is displayed.
HOWEVER with a 3 sim card, the message "sim not valid" is displayed either with or without the TurboSIM

Weird, but most of those cards dont guarantee they work with all phones/cards and another issue can be firmware version on the phone. I tried mine on a 6234 belonging to the young lad and it worked ok with a 3 sim and then he changed the 6234 for a 6300 and it works fine in that also.
