Lentless!

No not that wierd crap tree hugging, pocket mulching crusty swamp donkeys make all their meals from.

I'm talking about taking up all the slack that's going around. Everybody (outside this forum anyways) is talking about giving up stuff for lent, like cigs, beer (shudder), chocs etc. So to combat this unseemly moderation, I suggest the brothers/brotherettes and wannabees take up the challenge of doing extra! I for example am considering upping my daily smoke intake, going out at least one extra night a week (How I am going to fit in 8 evenings of beer I don't know but I will try). What will you do to support the cause?

More Meat, there's way to many live cattle in this country and something has to be done about it and besides every cow that's turned into steak is one less cow damaging the Ozone layer so it's our duty nay Obligation to eradicate this scourge and make the world a cleaner place for our children...

    ....oh and more Ice-cream, I loves ice-cream :o

Eh, ice-cream tastes best when made from cow milk, so I see a fundimental flaw in your plan! :P

...MMMMmmmm you make a valid point brother Don, irradicate cows and no more mint chocy chip OR loads of mint chocy chip and a hole in the ozone layer, maybe we could just eradicate all the ugly ones and stuff corks up all the other ones arses?

How about those yummy soya-based dairy products...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,172 ✭✭✭Don1

Feeding cattle on a high fibre ration that is mixed in the correct proportions in a gentle manner so as not to break the fibre up too much can actually reduce methane output by up to 20% per cow.

(I'm an engineer in the company that produces machines that mix the food)

I did not give the name, so no pimpage. I was just stating that in order to secure the availabilty of Mint-Choc ice cream a cull of cattle may not be necessary!!! :D

Bravo Don, you've managed to solve the methane and ice-cream problem in one post, but if we don't cull them where will we get more meat? ***starts to consider bacon*** :D

I don't mean stop killing them altogether, just don't resort to eradicating the species!! The current level of killing seems to provide enough steak so I'm happy! :D

    (and ice cream for desert)

Now this is what I like brother Shay, thinking outside the box but how will we get them past all the Indians? they may live in tents but their smart little feckers.

    Mmmmm Buffalo Hunky Dorys ....**drools***

So eradicating the buffalo instead as suggested by brother Shay, would this be exceptable?

Apologies Brotherette, so many new folk around these days it's getting hard to keep track. Still, that doesn't explain the "starting to consider bacon" remark. ;)

Apology accepted, as regards the bacon I meant consider pigs as a substitute animal to cull instead cow so I can save my beloved ice-cream and not that I currently have any aversion to swallowing a nice sausage***snigger***

Phew, that's all right then. You had me worried for a while there, aversion to bacon is not normal around here. Also glad to know you're a fan of the sausage.

I'm against the harpooning... Not because of cruelty to animals or anyother other such crazy crap but purely because its so damn difficult to drag the f**kers back into the helicopter
