    Hi all

I've a BT modem which is a bit slow starting up compared to the new ones i've seen which seem to start up a lot quicker and are smaller. Anyone know if i rang BT would they send me out a new modem or would i have to say the one i have is damaged or something and if so would i have to pay for the new one ?

    Thanks in advance

They would troubleshoot it first to see if there actually was a problem.

They wouldn't replace it for starting up slow, they just are.

Try updating the Firmware on the modem, it really helps (v.3.62).

Why do you need to be starting it up?

They're meant to be left on.

I'd say the chances of getting a freebie from BT are slim. They'll be able to see that the modem logs on ok and the data transfer is fine.

What modem is it that you are using? They will want to troubleshoot, might just be easier to buy a new one if YOU think the modem is the problem?

Just looking at the setup page and can only see advanced setup and there's no system there

Thanks for all the replies guys, there's no problem with the modem, i'm just wondering could i somehow get hold of a newer smaller and faster one. The one i'm using at the mo is the Zyxel one.

Click "Advanced" and then "Advanced" which is located next to "Back to Quick Start".
