Sounds to me like your friend is really self-concious and a bit insecure.
Maybe she has low confidence and thinks people will only like her for how she looks?

    I dont agree.
Talk to her about why she thinks her looks are so important.

She sounds very immature especially if she's cheating on her boyfriend, tbh, she sounds like a child and a really annoying one at that.

Next time she asks if she looks ugly... say yes, when she pauses with that 'did she just say yes' look on her face. Tell her to get real, cop on and start caring about who she is, what type of person she sees in herself and what she believes. Being secure and confident is very important. I agree with other posters, she's insecure, hence the cheating. She's attracted by any interest she gets, whether she REALLY wants it or not. You never know, she might not want this afair, but the thought of bein desirable to somebody sparks a feeling. It's a reflex that she needs to learn to control, and she will, once she starts accepting herself.

............or she's just a self centred idiot, but I think you'd know that yourself if she was.
