Howdy, im just sketching out floorplan designs for college. I cant find any reference to this in the regulations.
Would a diagional distance of 8m be ok of a distance between such stairs?

afaik there is no max distance,
the escape distanse determine how often or how many are needed, these are in part B
cant just list them here as there are loads depending on building use, escape type, dual or single

    Its for a hostel use.
So i can put them anywhere within the building in theory as long as all travel distances, be they in 1 or more directions are satisfied?

Dont just lash them in everywhere. Try to put in as few as possible. In the real world thats what the client or developer will want.

I imagine that they OP has two stairs, one from top floors, and one up from basement and he is making sure they are close enough to each other to comply.
If this is the case consider each escape as separate, they in theory are not linked in any way.
