Probably one of my favourite films right there.
The dialogue is shockingly good. I was in stitches!
All the acting is superb, cute soundtrack, relatable characters, blunt language and humour. Overall... 'mazing!

I have talked to a few people about it...
It seems to be the most Love-It-Or-Despise-it film in years...

Didn't despise it. Good performances, horrible screenplay

    Cloverfield takes that title.

Definitely the case. Loved it. Can see why some would hate it. The Juno character comes very close to being very annoying, but she gets away with it such is the performance.

Question: Can Ellen Page do a character who isn't a snarky teenager who's more clever than other characters in the film?

Just that she's just taken her Hard Candy performance and tweaked it toward cute far as I can see...

You didn't like it, we get it. No need trying to validate your reasons any further, you look a bit desperate when you do. Like a child, starved of attention.

I re-watched it today, as a friend of mine wanted to see it. Just reflected on my experience. No need to play amateur shrink....homeskillet.

    The dialogue is shockingly good.

The dialogue is stilted, self-conscious and unrealistic. The film itself is OK, but really, to anyone with ears.........

Considering shes been in three mainstream films to date, I don't think thats really a fair arguement.

And she wasn't snarky in XMen 3 if I recall, but she was a teenager. That's because she was born in the late 80s. She can't really change that now can she.

And anyway I thought her performance in Juno was fantastic. Nice to see a teenage character who isn't just a stereotypical nerd / jock / cheerleader etc...

I have ears and found the dialogue to be a joy. Yes, it is self conscious, but sometimes you've got to a let a film be a film, and the script made me laugh a hell of a lot, so I think it did the job.

Haha. Oh my God. I know this isn't exactly a review as I only watched the first 15 minutes before I walked out but... what a load of utter, utter tripe. I couldn't possibly sit there for the whole movie. 15 minutes of the most cringe worthy dialogue I have ever heard in a movie. Silly, cliched teen quips bizarrely mixed with over confidence and unrealistic intelligence. I couldn't watch this outlandish story anymore. I suppose I still have a deep seated hatred for Ellen Page after her annoyingly poor performance in Hard Candy but, even in her twenties, she's still a painfully talentless actress. If I want a completely escapist movie, I'll go and see Cloverfield or Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

0/10... maybe a bit more if you can manage to squirm through it and make it to the (supposedly better?) second half.

I hear you man.I was within an inch of walking out on this .
I remember looking at the people beside me in the cinema and the expression on their faces was priceless. They were completely lost and disgusted at how bad the first 20 minutes were.
    Remember now everybody
'Juno is the must see movie of the year'
    Its 'Hilariously funny'

I have t osay I disagree with most people here. I thought the movie was really good.
Ellen Page played Juno, brilliantly, and realisticly. And Laslo, the quips and over confidence, are clearly just a facade. I've seen it in real life many a time.

The only downsides are, that, for a comedy there weren't too many laugh out loud moments, and I didn't think the romantic subplot was fleshed out enough, but overall I thought it was a well made film.

I dont normally read movie reviews as some movies people say are good turn out bad and the ones they say are bad turn out good,

From reading the reviews on this movie above (i know i put a small one in) I wouldnt know what to think, Your best bet is to go and it see for yourself. Make up your own mind.

Dublindube clearly hated it.. Where I loved it..
So the opening posted posted have a look at the trailer http://youtube.com/watch?v=K0SKf0K3bxg

I don't normally agree with this guy but... he's right.

Juno is "quirky" for dumbos. Sorry.

I watched this recently again with my girlfriend. It gets worse on second viewing. What I had laughed at previously just turned into trash. If a movie ever needed a laughing track or a cue to tell you when to laugh, then this was it.
