Acoustic nights

I'm putting an Acoustic night together in the Balbriggan area.
Initially the idea is to have solo Performers do one cover and one or two original numbers on the night(format will change as we go along), with about 5 or 6 performers per night, Run the night once a week and see how it goes. Original songs are a must so Don't reply to this unless you have songs.

If it all takes off and enough decent musicians turn out, the future plan is to record the nights and produce CD compilations and mp3 downloads of the best performers and promote the nights on a bigger scale.

If your interested, email me at tom@revelaterecords.com with details of yourself and your music, what instrument you play, where your from etc. Email me links to your songs if you have them up online somewhere also.

    Thanks

    Tom

Yay! Seems you're taking up where I left off a few years ago! I used to run a weekly open mic event in town called 'Candlewax' which was a big success but alas, I could nay take it no more. Prepare yourself for some hardcore soppy tuneless '...my girlfriend dumped me...woah is me...blah blah blah'. Be warned! :)

You might want to talk to Dermot Byrne (a Balbrigga-man) who's always organising stuff for singer/songwriters in Balbriggan in the Trax Cafe. He plays too and has links with the local studio.

Always glad to help so PM me if you want a look at my old contact list of performers which I collected over a year or more. Best of luck!

    Hi There -

Is this night exclusive to Solo acts - We are an electric band, but we rehearse acoustically as a 3 piece with no drums and sound pretty good.

If it's not open to us, good luck with the gigs anyway...

    Mick

    Hi Tom,

as was mentioned above, I've been running a music night in Trax for about 3 years now - taking a break until the summer though - I'll send you a mail later on . But just to say if theres any info you need or names let me know.

As we'll be re-organising the night in the summer - I'm just taking some time off too finish off the album - but would love to come along and mooch a spot at your gig :D

Where are you thinking of holding it?

    all the best
    Dermot
