Stolen moped

    Hi all,
    Yet another stolen bike, my 02-D-67396 MBK Ovetto 50cc was taken on Saturday night from the Clondalkin area. I'm sure its probably at the bottom of the canal right now but if ye can keep an eye out it'd be much appreciated. It's silver with a box at the back.
    The Guards weren't too optimistic about finding it so I'm beginning to look for something else and could do with some advice as i'm new to the biking scene.

    I used the moped for commuting into college(City Centre) and found it was dangerously slow at times so I was planning to upgrade to a 'proper' bike in the summer anyway when i can do the full test. Instead of buying another 50cc i figure i'd be better to just go for a 125cc now.

    Do you guys have any recommendations for a good beginners 125cc bike suitable for commuting into the city? And do you know where is the best place to shop for bikes? Buy and sell? Dealers?....
    I'm quite tall (6ft 2) and would definitely need something reliable but hopefully fairly cheap :rolleyes:

    Also would you expect the insurance to increase by much? (it is currently €900 for third party only :( -should have got the damn fire and theft!!)

    Im 18 and have an A1 learner permit since October and a full B licence if that makes any difference.
