What do you mean you got the settings off o2? Did you get them sent to your phone or did you get manual settings to enter?

Sometimes its a sim problem. Try putting your sim into another phone and vice versa to make sure the problems with the phone and not the sim or your settings at o2s end.

    What settings have you entered?

i got them sent to me by o2 via text message.

    they are:

    set name: o2 mms
    server url: http://mmsc.mms.o2.ie:8002
    bearer: GPRS
    Acc Name: pp.wap.o2.ie

maybe they sent the wrong ones. you dont say whether your a bill pay or speakeasy customer. The settings you listed were for MMS only, and not gprs. If you reply with an email address, i'l send the full list to you.

    Ken.

What the hell, here are the full settings. O2 doesnt support your phone, but these should work, with a slight variation of the wording:

    GPRS SETTINGS:
Go to main menu > funbox > browser menu > settings > select a proxy server.
    Enter the following settings:
    Profile name: o2 wap
    Homepage URL: http://www.o2.ie
Security: secure OR non-secure (security is needed for things like banking)
    IP address: 192.168.090.074
    Bearer: gprs
    Username: leave blank
    Password: leave blank
APN: wap.dol.ie (contract) or pp.wap.o2.ie (speakeasy)

To access WAP go to Menu > WAP Browser > Home.

    MMS SETTINGS:
Go to main menu > Picture messages > MMS profile.
    Enter the following settings:
    Profile name: o2 mms
    Connection URL: http://mmsc.mms.o2.ie:8002
    Security: non-secure
    IP address: 192.168.090.074
    Username: leave blank
    Password: leave blank
APN: wap.dol.ie (contract) or pp.wap.o2.ie (speakeasy)

To access MMS go to Menu > Picture messages.

You need both mms and gprs to be able to send the MMS messages. Best of Luck.

are you sure about those IP addresses? these are the settings on my phone:

surely if every phone has the same ip the network won't work?

There will always be more than one choice of IP or APn for these types of things.

There will always be more than one choice of IP or APn for these types of things.

But the ip is supposed to be assigned by o2 each time you connect. If more than one person manually enters that ip, they won't be able to access the net at the same time.

The IP addresses are static. All phones will have the same one, as there is no DHCP server as such. It's more of a gateway. I talk people through it every day and its always the same one.
If it was an O2 phone I could just send you the settings, but its not on the suported list. Thats why the settings are manual.

If you have any other questions id be happy to help.

my issue here is that i've successfully entered the settings in dozens of phones and i've never seen those ips. And the settings i just got sent to my phone don't have them. They're set to automatic

unless the phones are all assigned that ip when they connect if they don't have it?

did you try getting a replacement sim? Old sims often have problems with this. and did you put your sim in another phone and vice versa? If so, could your sim send picture messages in the other phone and could the other sim send messages in yours?

make sure the other person's phone can send picture messages normally first of course
