I have 5 guitars, a bass, 2 sitars, a drum kit and a harmonica. I'm looking to add to the collection (mainly a string instrument).

What should I get? Something classical, something exoctic? Any Suggestions?

Double Bass all the way! There is no cooler instrument! (after guitar of course! ;) )

Yeah great sound, I played one for a few months in fourth year but I had the attention span of... Well, a teenager lol... Might give it another go, I'll see what other suggestions pop up!

It will probably be that or a cello if I go classical but I'd be more inclined to buy a random, not so well known/widely played instrument.

    Another vote for DB! :)

I'd love to give it a go, alas I don't have the space for one (or the money) :D
I do plan on buying one when I get myself a house. I'd love a King DB, that'd be awesome.

I think McCullough Piggots (sp?) might have one, I know that Crehan's in Drumcondra sells them for sure. :)

I haven't got a camera, I'll see if I can use a mates phone camera to satisfy your curiosity (your an obsessive lot aren't ya's ;)).

Anyways that new music shop in dundrum (some guy was advertising the shop in another post) sells them. Its actualy a great little shop with lots of cool instruments, mostly acoustics, semi acoustics, banjos, mandolins etc... The guy said there is a back section gonna be opening in the next few weeks that will contain rare guitars and exoctic instruments so you should all check it out if thats your sort of thing.

I have lots of cash saved since I quit smoking and doin other bad things... Also it helps having lots of random crap to sell from previous impulse buys. Just got rid of an xbox360 now I'm looking to flog a pool table to go towards an Epi Casino or a Rickenbacker. Heres hopen someone will buy the stupid thing...

sitars look great, ,would love to try one!
where did ya get them?? ebay?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 292 ✭✭Krsnik87

The small one is from ebay and the full size (my new baby, sorry takamine...) I had to get ordered in from India through a dealer in England. Worth every penny...

Its the most beautiful sounding instrument ever, you can get countless hours out of just plucking away at open strings lol. I'm learning the theory behind it atm which is extremely difficult considering ya have to learn a bit of indian to understand it but its enjoyable.
