i've been making bebo skins on photoshop for a while, and they always look great until it comes to saving them.. the maximum size for main backgrounds is 40kb, and the only way to get files down to this size is to reduce the quality.. however, iv recently made my best main background yet.. it took ages, but the file size is 183kb
when i get the size down to 40kb, the quality is horrendous!
    can anybody help?

    hey

I make them all the time.. You are going to lose some quality..

But do this. when you are finished click File > Save for Web & Devices >

You will get a pop up screen with you image on it. on the right select JPG

down the bottom in the left you will see the size.. Adjust the quality bar on the right till that reads 38-39kb (not 40 as bebo will say it's 41kb)

oh and make sure optimized is clicked

    Then click save.
