    Hi,

is there some way of printing from excel and keeping the boxes. I have a long list of names in the form of an attendance sheet and will be ticking off the names over a period of weeks. so i want to try keep the boxes so it easier to tick who is present or absent each week.

Any idea how to keep the boxes in the printed sheet-is it possible?

    Thanks

    # On the Tools menu, click Options.
    # On the View tab, under Window options, clear or select the Gridlines check box to hide or show the gridlines.

I dont think this is what you are after. This simply removes the grey gridlines of the cells which dont appear when you print out the info anyways.

You need to apply borders to the cells. Highlight all the cells you want to have an outline around and then while you have them highlighted press the right mouse button, select "format cells".When the window appears go to the borders tab,you will see presets, choose the ones for outline and inside, depending on what way you want it to look. You can mess with them to find out what way you want it to look.

    Sorry dudes.....my mistake...

On the Page Layout tab, in the Sheet Options group, select the Print check box under Gridlines. This will print all gridlines on the excel sheet....

The gridlines still arent much use cos they come out a really light grey. You are far better off to do as i said and put the border outline around them so they come out black and look like proper boxes.
