Why don't you post details of the problem?

I'm sure you will get better responses if you do.

With the wealth of experience on this board, I'm sure you will be told

    What you need to buy

    Where to get it

How to install & configure it.

Basically I have a Packard Bell PC imedia model, approx 3 years old.
It keeps crashing (Blue Screen) because the CPU is overheating. Fan is not coping running slow so in order to keep the PC running I have to use a desk top fan to keep it cool. I have taken a soft brush and hoover to it and removed approx 2 1/2 Years of dust and gunk but it still keeps crashing.

So I need to replace the fan ( which I do not know how to do or which fan part I need ) :(

Do we get a prize if we correctly guess which model number your iMedia is?

does the desktop fan keep it cool enough for 100% operation?
does it fit properly on the cpu properly?

could you not use that instead of getting a new fan for the imedia 1625

Does your machine have the round four tab heat sink?

The iMedia has a Intel Socket LGA775 P4 CPU with a Max Temp of 68 degrees C.

i have the same comp that u have and the thing has crashed about 5 times because of the cpu fan overheating. because it was under warranty i was able to get it repaired and the cause of the problem is the power supply fan, it keeps breaking down the repair guy is quite stumped at why it keeps breaking down. so as a result the power supply fan has been replaced quite alot, so that could be your problem.

if I recall correctly, theres a private PC shop near the train/bus station: On the same street head North, toward the AIB. Its along there somewhere by one of the street corners.

Let me try and find it on maps.

Red marks the station o' course. Im almost certain its at the yellow spot but could be at the green one.
