Pavlik - Duddy fight

    Apparently its a done deal for June, With Pavliks next fight a non-title fight.

    Anybody know where this Duddy-Pavlik fight may be held?

    I would be worried about John Duddy's safety in this one.


    Still far to early and far to big a jump from a 10 round bouts with the likes of Pince Aaaron and a shot howard eastman.


    Duddy takes a lot of shots to the face and Pavlik is a ferocious puncher. I really think it is a silly, misguided, dangerous move.



    On that note as weel I think RTE are a fvcking disgrace talking about about LEE V Taylor/Pavlik.


    Andy Lee is 23 years of age ffs. He hasnt had a fight past 10 rounds yet. It is incredibly responsible and they did the same thing with bernard dunne i.e. Hype him up beyond belief and his career is practically destroyed after one defeat. McCloskey is another example. Has a good fight against Garnicha and the Muhammed Ali comparison is wheeled out.

    I just think it is a disgrace the way they do this purely to buil;d buzz and get people watching. There are younf fighters careers, even lives at stakes.

    If duddy can fight pavlik, Lee can too! Lee is actually more experienced than duddy and has fought the better boxers, especially at international amateur level-most boxing fans accept that lee is better than duddy..i'll support both but if either wins a world title it will be Lee.

    Dont get me wrong these two guys are probably my favourite boxers in the world at the moment.

    I will always support them no matter what. I think Andy Lee is one of the best prospects in the world at the moment but he is still only that, a prospect.

    As I said I dont think Duddy should be fighting Pavlik either. Duddy takes more shots to the face than Jenna Jameson and Pavlik hits fvcking hard. Duddy could get seriously hurt.


    Such a fight at this stage of his career could also be incredibly damaging to Andy's career.


    I love them both and I think Andy Lee will be a world champion some day but its too early yet. Duddy could maybe win some form of a world title but Pavlik is not right for him imo.


    My biggest issue is with the ridiculous hyping, biased commentary and misguided judgements handed out on RTE.....You have heard McCloskey is the next Muhammed Ali right?:rolleyes:


    P.S. Dont know if you picked me up wrong cowzerp but no way do I think Duddy is a better boxer than Lee.
